This week's topic: The Importance Of Family

Who protects you? When the Christians in Jerusalem wanted nothing to do with the newly converted Saul of Tarsus, Barnabas acted as his advocate. You don’t have enough voices. You need others to speak up for you.

Who shares your tears? Mary of Bethany was the only person in the room who understood what Jesus was going through as He came closer to His hour of death. She alone shared His tears.

Who’s close enough to you to pick up on the signals, to sense when fears and tears need to be shared? Yes, there are times when we need a pep talk or a shot in the arm, but there are also times when we need to be encouraged to lie low, to process our emotions. Who does that for you? Who rebukes you?

Even with 20/20 vision, one pair of eyes is not enough. You have blind spots. Satan is always ready to remind you of your good qualities. But a true friend is the one who exposes and challenges your self-seeking, self-pleasing and self-dependence, and helps you to restore to God the authority you’ve robbed Him of.

Who plays with you? Does this sound unimportant, even carnal? No! You must never let the seriousness of life override your need for recreation, a word that’s only understood when it’s hyphenated, re-creation. Who seeks God with you.

Praying together keeps us honest. It also keeps us dependent on God. We’re reluctant to open up, to get real about our areas of struggle. Yet it’s only in the honesty of shared prayer that we draw closer to God – and to one another.

FRIDAY'S FAITH - Following God's Schedule

Waiting on God so we can discover His will is an essential discipline of the Christian life. Once we learn His plan, we must be careful to implement it in His time frame.

Following the Lord's schedule is always to our benefit because of His . . .

• All-encompassing knowledge. Unlike us, the Father has complete awareness about our world and the details of every individual life—past, present, and future. (Acts 17:26).

• Complete wisdom. The Lord understands man's every motive (1 Chron. 28:9) and acts accordingly. Our decision making is flawed since we cannot clearly discern people's intentions. We make choices based on partial information, but God has the wisdom to properly interpret the facts and then take action based on truth (Rom. 11:33). He never makes a mistake.

• Unending love. Through His Son, the Father offers us unconditional love. By sending Jesus to die in our place, God proved the depth of His everlasting love (1 John 4:10). He always has our best interest at heart.

• Perfect sufficiency. The Lord offers us all the resources we need to carry out His plan—wisdom, strength, and skill (2 Peter 1:3).

Adhering to God's timetable requires both faith and courage. We must believe that He knows how we should live, trust that His plan is right, and have the determination to wait until He gives a signal to proceed. Those who follow the Lord's schedule will experience the blessing of watching Him work things together for their gain and His glory.

FRIDAY'S FAITH - Your Angels Are Listening

People may doubt the existence of angels, but the Word is clear about the truth. There are heavenly beings assigned to Believers and they are waiting for us to give them assignments daily.
Hebrews 1:14 says angels are "ministering" spirits sent to minister to the heirs of salvation. Who are the heirs of salvation? You and me! Angels are part of God's covenant promise of divine protection for those who believe in Him; however, it takes faith to activate angelic power in your life.

Psalm 103:20 says, "Bless the Lord, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word. Bless ye the Lord, all ye his hosts; ye ministers of his, that do his pleasure." One of the keys to releasing angels in your life is to speak the Word of God. These powerful beings don't just move because you want them to. The Word says they hearken unto the voice of God's Word. That means until you speak the Word of God, they will not go to work on your behalf.

Many people don't believe angels are real, but I am a living witness that they do exist. Had it not been for angels, I wouldn't be here today. Six years ago, I was in a car accident so bad that when the police showed up they called the coroner. They thought everyone involved was dead. I was riding in a truck with other ministers to a finance convention in Sacramento, California, when someone ran a red light and struck the car we were in. When the car hit us, I saw my angels. I am confident it is because of them that my life was redeemed from destruction that day.

The Bible says in Psalm 91:11, 12, "For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone." Isn't it comforting to know God has made provision for your divine protection? It is part of your covenant right as a Christian. All you have to do is receive it by faith and begin commanding your angels on a daily basis.

In Daniel 3, God sent angels to rescue three young men from a fiery furnace—Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego—because they trusted God and refused to bow down to another god. As a result of their faith in God and His protection, the eyes of their persecutors were opened, and Daniel 3:28 says the king of the land had no choice but to acknowledge the God of Israel. Now that's power!

God sends angels to protect His servants. Here are some keys for you to activate angelic protection in your life:

1. Trust: Trust is a force of commitment. When you trust God no matter what is going on around you, you demonstrate your commitment to Him, even in the midst of challenging times. Trust will enable you to release your angels with confidence (Psalm 34:7).

2. Believe: God is committed to those who believe His Word (Luke 1:45, Matthew 18:10). You have to believe God will protect you and angels will carry out this aspect of your salvation at your command.

3. Serve God: Your service to God and His Kingdom provokes angelic protection (Psalm 91:11, AMP).

4. Pray: Jesus said God would have sent twelve legions of angels to His rescue had He prayed for them. Prayer will release angels on your behalf (Matthew 26:51—53).

5. The name of Jesus: Calling on the name of Jesus will secure the attention of all the angels of God. They will come to your rescue (Hebrews 1:6).

6. Command your angels: You have to command your angels and assign them before they can work for you. You command the assistance of angels when you speak the Word of God (Psalm 103:20).

FRIDAY'S FAITH - Walking With Jesus

I think it's interesting to note those to whom Jesus chose to appear after His resurrection. We don't read about Him appearing to Caiaphas or Caesar.

Now if it had been me, the first person I would have appeared to would have been Pilate: "Yo, Pilate! Remember me? Can't keep a good man down, can you?" Or I would have appeared to Caiaphas, the high priest who, for the most part, orchestrated the crucifixion.

But it is interesting how Jesus appeared to two disciples on the road to Emmaus and joined them on their journey. We don't know who they were, and they are not mentioned again in the Bible.

The Bible tells us that Jesus appeared in another form to them as they went into the country. In other words, He was going incognito. They didn't know that it was Jesus.

The last sight they had of the Lord was His beaten and bloodied body. Surely they wanted to get that image out of their minds.

There they were, walking along, and Jesus was walking with them. It's a reminder to us that at all times, even when we don't realize it, Jesus is walking with us.

Isaiah 43:2 promises, "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you."

Maybe when you are in church, you feel close to God. But wherever you go, you can know that Jesus is with you there too. When you are going through hard times, even when you cannot feel Him, Jesus is there.

FRIDAY'S FAITH - How To Avoid An Empty Life

In public, most people appear happy and confident. But beneath the surface, many feel empty. In fact, it is possible to be in a large crowd and yet feel alone.

A lot of men and women see no meaning or purpose in life. Attempting to overcome the emptiness, some become busy, others turn to drugs or alcohol, and still others strive for more money, power, or love. Though pleasure exists for them, it is usually short-lived.

There’s a reason why life can feel empty: God created man with a yearning—one that He alone is able to satisfy. Individuals cannot be fulfilled until they experience the Lord’s transforming and unconditional love. Jesus said, “I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly” (John 10:10). In other words, God wants us to feel complete, which can happen only through a relationship with Him.

However, even a person who is saved can feel empty. This could result from disobedience: a slight detour in one’s walk with the Lord can become a way of life, depriving a believer of deep satisfaction. It’s also possible for Christians to live according to God’s Word without fully surrendering their desires to Him. For example, many believers still try to fill up their own void with achievement, wealth, or relationships. When aspirations like these are given higher priority than the Lord, they are a form of idolatry.

We can live a full life only when we seek God above all else. Pray for His guidance as you search your heart. Confess any sin or idolatry, and ask God to fill your life as only He can do.

FRIDAY'S FAITH - Excess Baggage

I am the kind of a person who likes to drag a lot of stuff with me when I travel. I have been traveling for many years, yet I still overpack. I want to bring everything I own. But excess baggage makes traveling more complicated.

In the same way, when you are running the race of life, you need to run light. Sometimes we drag along a lot of excess weight. But notice that the Bible tells us to "strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily hinders our progress." Sin is sin, and there are certain non-negotiables to which we must hold fast. Then there might be something that is a weight in your life that may not necessarily be a weight in another's life. By that I mean, there may be something you are doing that is impeding your spiritual progress. Periodically, I need to take stock of my life as a Christian and look at the things I am doing with my time. I need to ask myself the question, "Is it a wing or a weight? Is it speeding me on my way spiritually, or is it slowing me down? Is it increasing my spiritual appetite, or is it dulling it?"

How often we are so busy doing a lot of things that aren't really all that important, but they seem important at the time. We need to ask ourselves if we need to do all of those things. Are they slowing you down?

FRIDAY'S FAITH - First Things First

I have often said of the Bible, "Sin will keep you from this book, and this book will keep you from sin." If you obey God's Word, it will keep you from sin. But sin will keep you from God's Word.

The devil will do everything in his power to keep you from reading and memorizing Scripture. As he did with Eve by first questioning God's Word, then distorting it, and finally adding to it, he will keep you from it as well.

In Ephesians 6, we are told as believers to take up the whole armor of God. But have you ever noticed there is only one weapon listed that is both defensive and offensive? God has given us the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. That is what Jesus used. And that is what we need to use. As the psalmist said, "Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You" (Psalm 119:11).

What shape is your sword in today? Is it polished from daily use and sharpened on the anvil of experience? Or is it rusty from lack of preparation or dulled by disobedience?

Take time for the Word of God. Make it a top priority to not only read the Bible, but to memorize it. It will prepare your heart for what you will face throughout the day.

Over on the Cricut Board NubianCrafter and Truth inspired me to do something I have never done... Cut acrylic on my Cricut. Let me tell you... I was so intimidated by the idea... I watched a few you-tube videos... got a few instructions from the ladies on the cricut board and jumped right in. I made 4 different tumblers.

FRIDAY'S FAITH - Use Word Power!

Have you ever seen a construction company try to build something without a blueprint? Of course not. The same thing applies to your life. You must have a blueprint (a vision or desire) of what you want to see come to pass, and then use words of faith to bring it into the physical realm.

God used words to create the world. By giving voice to His desires, He was able to see them manifest (Genesis 1:1-3). Proverbs 18:21 says that death and life are in the power of the tongue. Scripture also says that Jesus upholds all things by the word of His power (Hebrews 1:3). The Bible’s emphasis on “word power” is worth your attention. Once you understand the impact of words, you will become inspired to use them to frame your world.

As a born-again Christian, you possess the same creative ability as God. You have the same authority to see what you say—whether positive or negative. Jesus emphasized the importance of not speaking carelessly. He even went so far as to say that every idle word spoken by men is subject to the judgment of God (Matthew 12:36). This warning makes it clear that God does not take your words lightly. The fact is that He gave you a mouth for a reason—to speak in line with His thoughts and purposes.

Wrong speaking works against the things God is trying to accomplish in your life and hinders the manifestation of abundance. The devil wants to see you fail (John 10:10). Since he knows your mouth and heart are connected, he wants to make sure that your heart is filled with his words instead of God’s. Whatever is deposited in your heart through what you see and hear will come out of your mouth (Matthew 12:34).

You can become a diligent custodian over your words by focusing your mind on those things that are just, pure, lovely and of good report (Philippians 4:8). As you fill yourself with the Word by continually reading, meditating on and speaking scriptures that relate to your specific situation, you design a wonderful blueprint for your life!

FRIDAY'S FAITH - Living a Disciplined Life

No one can be successful in ministry who is undisciplined. There are too many undisciplined pastors, too many undisciplined evangelists, too many undisciplined ministers of the gospel. To be successful, one must be disciplined!

In I Corinthians 9:27, Paul says: But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.

Notice what Paul tells us here: But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection.... The "I" that Paul is talking about is the spirit man on the inside. "I" is the real you. "I" is the you that has been born again. Your body is not you. You are not flesh and blood.

Have you ever heard someone say, "Well, what do you expect? I am only flesh and blood. What do you want me to do, be an angel or something? I'm just flesh and blood."

You are not flesh and blood. You are a spirit! You have a flesh and blood body, but you are not flesh and blood. Flesh and blood is where you live. You are a spirit made in the image of God.

The great Apostle Paul said that he kept his body under and brought it into subjection. That tells me that the body is out of subjection, and if I do not bring my body in line, it will stay out of subjection.

Notice what Paul did not say: He did not say, "I put my body under." If he had said that, he would only have to do it one time. But he said, "I keep my body under." The reason he had to keep it under was because it wanted to get out from under--the same way your body does. And if you do not keep that sucker under, it will get out from under and do something it is not supposed to do. Unfortunately, we hear about it getting out from under all the time in the ministry fraternity.

A minister of God has to be disciplined, and it starts with the flesh. If you cannot discipline your body, you will not discipline your spirit. You cannot! It is impossible! You cannot see your spirit, yet you are looking at your body every day, and it will get out of control if you let it. How are you going to control something you cannot even see?

You have a body that you are looking at all the time, you haul it around, you push it in and out of cars, you feed it, you are stuffing it, undershirt it, you shave it, you spray cologne on it, you deodorize it, you bathe it; and sometimes it gets out of control--while you are looking at it every five minutes! How are you going to control your spirit that you have not even seen?

Paul said, but I keep under my body and bring it screaming and hollering into subject, because screaming and hollering is what it will do. It does not want to conform to God's Word. It is not subject to the laws of God. You have to bring it into submission and keep it there.

If you want to be successful, you have to discipline yourself. And it starts with your body. If God cannot trust you with the house you live in, why would He give you 5,000 church members?

It costs something to be disciplined. It will make you scream sometimes. It will make you holler sometimes, because your body does not want to conform, but you have to make it conform and bring it into subjection. Subjection to what? To the Word of God and to your own recreated spirit. It does not work automatically; you have to stay with it all the time.

I like to eat. I love good food. I particularly enjoy ice cream. Sometimes I will get a craving for it just as they say some women who are pregnant have a craving for some particular food item. Sometimes when I get that craving, just to let the devil know that I am in control, I will deny myself, and I will refuse to eat it. I tell my body, "I am in control--me, the spirit man. The man on the inside is in control. Body, you do not control me!" No ice cream is going to have me crawling the walls at midnight trying to find a fix, like some preachers do with cigarettes.

I will say it again, because it bears repetition: A disciplined life is what you have to have in order to be successful in your Christian life, as well as in the ministry!

The Joy of the Lord is My Strength!

Sometimes we in the church are accused of glossing over the fact that life can be hard. We sometimes tend to give the impression that all you need to do is give your heart to Jesus and all of your problems will be solved, all your bills will be paid, you will have success and prosperity and everything you touch will turn to gold. If you are a Christian, you will have a continual smile on your face and always be happy. We make all our baskets, we sink all our putts, we close all our deals.

Does that sound like your testimony? I know it doesn't sound like mine!

I think the problem is that we've confused joy with happiness. Happiness is dependent on happenings. Circumstances in your life dictate whether or not you are happy. Joy, on the other hand is a gift from God - a fruit of the Spirit that transcends whatever is happening in your life. Joy allows you to rise —even to soar— above difficult circumstances, challenges, and heartaches. Joy comes from knowing Who is in control and that He has a plan to give you hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11) We do not draw our strength from the great feeling we get when things go right; if we did, we would be powerless when hard times and adversity hit, and we would all be easy pickings for the devil. No, it is the joy of the Lord that is our strength!

Jesus wasn't happy about going to the cross. He prayed the night before "If there is any other way, let this cup pass from me..." But He did have joy in obedience. The writer to the Hebrews put it this way: "Who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross..." There was joy for the Lord Jesus even in the pain and the agony of the cross because He knew the end result of His obedience and sacrifice would be the offer of salvation for you and me. Jesus chose to go through hell for us rather than to go to heaven without us.

In the book of Philippians, the Apostle Paul talks about joy over and over again. Yet he wrote that letter to the church at Philippi while he was imprisoned in horrible conditions. How could he write about joy while imprisoned in a dark, cold, rat-infested Roman cell? It's because joy is not dependent on circumstances!

When you and I face tough times, we can draw on great reserves of joy that are rooted in our knowledge of the faithfulness of God. That's how Job was able to say in the midst of tragedy, heartache and great loss, "Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him" (Job 13:15, KJV) He knew God and He trusted God. That is how he could have "joy in unrelenting pain" (Job 6:10, NIV)

Job's friends made the mistake of misjudging Job. But what was worse, they misrepresented God. They presumed to speak for God in telling Job he needed to repent. Job's friends naturally assumed that since things weren't going great for Job, he wasn't living right, and God was punishing him for his sins. I'm afraid the spirit of Job's friends is still very much with us. We see and hear it just about every Sunday.

Now, don't get me wrong here— I've spent most of my life in church. Since I was a teenager I have either worked for a church or worked with organizations that worked with churches. I love the church. I love church people. But let's be honest—sometimes we have a problem keeping it real. We look at each other and smile real big and say, "I'm fine! We're all fine! How about you? Are you fine?" while inside we're hurting. The problem is if I admit to you that I am hurting or struggling, you might assume that I'm not spiritual enough. To avoid that I just pretend that everything is fine, when it really isn't.

If there is any place on earth that you should be able to keep it real, it ought to be the church. God's Word tells us to confess our faults to each other so we may be healed. (James 5:16) But you can't confess your faults if you are afraid to let me know that you have any! In the church we, like Job's friends, have bought into the notion that "spiritual" Christians don't have any problems.

But if you think about it for a minute I believe you will agree with me that the most spiritual people I have ever known were those who had walked through deep dark valleys of sorrow and heartache yet through it all their faith and trust never wavered. It wasn't the smiley-faced folks pretending to be perfect who touched my heart, it was those who I saw pressed on every side but not crushed, cast down but not destroyed. It was in those people that I saw that indeed the joy of the Lord is our strength. I want to be one of those people!

Lord, help me to draw my strength from your gift of joy and not from my feelings or present circumstances!

It has lot's of images that include doorhangers, tags, match boxes, and purses. It does not look like a popcorn box :) they are really cute.

B.J.'s red, white and blue '63 convertible is a "moving" tribute to those lives lost on September 11.

Who could ever forget September 11? B.J. King of Pasadena, California, won't forget and he's for sure going to remind others with his tribute '63 Chevy Impala convertible, "My Heroes." B.J. was deeply affected by that terrible tragedy. "This car was built to memorialize the lives that were lost on September 11, 2001," says B.J. "So it will always be known that I will never forget my heroes."

B.J. doesn't mind admitting that he was "overwhelmed" by the project, giving it his all. And when B.J. gives his all, good things happen. We're talking about a founding member of Death Row Records who was responsible for pioneering the placement of lowrider vehicles in rap videos. These days, though, B.J. is a family man deeply involved with New Mt. Pleasant MBC (church) and his VP of operations job at STi Motorsports in Culver City, California. He still loves the lows, though.

Passion was the keyword for B.J. in building My Heroes. In fact, he says that some people scoffed at him when he was putting the '63 together. "They said, 'What're you doing making a car with a red body and blue frame?'," recalls B.J., who had the last laugh. "I recently turned down an offer for the car for $80,000." Offers to buy the star-covered car are matched by the number of First Place car show trophies that it has won.

B.J. is grateful for the support of his family and friends while he was involved with putting together this patriotic project, including legendary lowrider Ted Wells. He also wants to send out a few final words for his mother, Virginia Scott, a cancer survivor. "We're still here, mom."

FRIDAY'S FAITH - Keep Fighting!

The Importance of Family

The word family is not mentioned in the Bible as much as the related word 'house' or 'household'. Family is frequently used throughout the Bible to signify the historical origin. A family might be a tribe or even a nation. In Acts 3:25 (NKJV) the promise to Abraham is quoted 'in your seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed'.

This is so significant because Jesus was apart of that seed in the flesh. Which says not only will Israel families benefit from that but also your family.

I would say within this last decade families have taken a major blow. The assault that has been committed physically looks like the institution of the family is loosing. However, the great news is that no weapon formed against us shall prosper. The family is so important today that we have to make up in our mind that we are willing to fight for what family represents, what family stands for, and what makes up a family.

When you're ready to acquire what God has for you, many times you won't be able to just walk into it; sometimes we have to fight for it. That's why you don't have time for folks who are jealous of your family when they don't know how hard you had to fight to get where you are today. There was a time you almost lost heart, there was a time you almost walked out, there was a time you almost gave up, but to God be the glory.

2 Corinthians 4:17 (NKJV) "For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal".

You now understand that every affliction you went through was only for a moment even though at times it seem like it was lasting forever.

I want to make a declaration and say keep fighting! Keep fighting for your family. Whether you're fighting for your marriage; fighting for your family; or fighting for your future; just keep fighting! Don't you lose heart, and don't you give up!

This is your month of transformation, because you realize that your family is important and they are a blessing from God.

Ask yourself, 'What would I attempt, if I weren't afraid of failing?' Jesus told of a man who entrusted his business to three key workers. He gave the first worker five talents, the second two, and the third one. In Bible times one talent was about fifteen years' salary, so you begin to grasp what an opportunity this was. It was a defining moment which gave each of them the chance to test their skills, develop initiative, practice good judgment, and profit from their investment. The first two men did exactly that, doubling theirs. But the third was afraid of failing, so he buried his talent. Jesus described this man as 'wicked' and said his talents would be taken from him and given to the man who used his profitably. He wasn't judged for what he did, he was judged for doing nothing.
Fear of people, fear of failure, and fear of rejection can tempt you to bury your gift. Don't do it! Unless you've the courage to start-you're already finished. When God called people like Moses, Gideon, Deborah and Esther they all had to overcome their natural fears; so will you. When they were in the wilderness, fear of lack made the Israelites want to go back to Egyptian slavery. Fear of persecution caused the disciples to forsake Jesus in His darkest hour, and caused Peter to deny Him-three times. Refuse to let fear stop you! How you use your talents is a matter of the utmost importance. The truth is, it's the basis upon which God will finally judge and reward you. Be Blessed and have a fabulous, fearless weekend!

Today is National Day of Prayer

Today I have replaced my Facebook/Farmville time with prayer.. Those of you who know me, know I am addicted to Farmville :) Each time I think of being on Farmville, I will pray. In my prayer I will pray for Our country, Our President, My Family, My Friends, My Boss and what ever comes ti mind.. Right now those are the things that God as put on my heart. The Devil is a LIE!

On April 15, 2010, United States District Court Judge Barbara Crabb, for the Western District of Wisconsin, struck down the National Day of Prayer statute, 36 U.S.C. § 119, as violating the Establishment Clause. Judge Crabb ruled that the statute serves no secular purpose, but rather calls the nation to engage in a religious exercise – prayer.

The National Day of Prayer belongs to Americans. It is a tradition that dates back to 1775 and it is not for a Judge to take away. We the people called for the day of prayer and for 59 years we have practiced our freedom to gather and pray.

This is an attack upon our religious freedoms and it is a sad day in America when an atheist in Wisconsin can undermine this tradition for millions of others who simply wish to join their fellow citizens in praying for their country.

The National Day of Prayer provides an opportunity for all Americans to pray voluntarily according to their own faith – it does not violate the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment.

FRIDAY'S FAITH - Dreams from God are worth Pursuing!

We are all born with the God-given capacity to dream, envision, and create.

A major part of our life-journey is to determine the dreams, goals and visions that are God-purposed, and to pursue those dreams.

During these times of transition and economic uncertainty, many people have become so overwhelmed, stressed, anxious and/or depressed by the current state of affairs in the world -- and very possibly in their own lives – they are apt to forget the power of pursuing God-given dreams to re-establish a sense of well-being and purpose.

While it may not be immediately possible in the natural to completely realize one’s God-given visions and goals, I want to be clear about this: if God has given you a vision that brings forth His will in your life, and helps to accomplish His plans in our earth today, He WILL bring it to pass!

As you go about your daily responsibilities, earnestly ask God to show you His will for your life, and to reveal the dreams, goals and visions within you that He intends to help you bring to pass. A good indication of these kinds of dreams is that they will often be ‘other-centered’: they will in some way combine a natural gift, talent, skill or aptitude that you have with an opportunity to be of service to others.

It is also important to remember that God-given dreams and God-purposed goals are often meant to impact specific people in one’s immediate sphere of influence.

For instance, one may have a God-given dream of starting a small, one-person cleaning service or child-care service on the weekends -- or with setting up a regular visiting schedule at a nursing home. Another person’s dream may be nurtured by volunteering at a homeless feeding program or shelter…or helping develop and after-school tutoring or sport-centered program for children.

One might be purposed by God to impact the lives of young people as a teacher, athletic coach, or tutor. Some may have dreams of becoming the best mother, father, or role-modeling figure possible -- for one child, or many.

Some people may be inspired to write a book, paint beautiful pictures, or take photographic images of and about those things that reflect God’s handiwork in our earth – or that may even be able to lead a life, or lives, to Christ.

If God has put a dream or a vision inside of you, it will create passion within you and He intends for you to pursue that dream – even without assurance in ‘the natural’ of what the outcome will be.

It’s also important to be able to determine dreams we may have that are not God-inspired. Sometimes we can be taken off our God purposed-path by fantasies and trivial pursuits that may actually be harmful to our physical, spiritual, mental and emotional well-being.

These kinds of dreams are often fed and nourished by forces, images, and purposes that are not of God. For instance, little girls often hear fairy tales of princes and princesses who live in beautiful palaces, attend fabulous balls, and lead idle lives of leisure and luxury. Their young minds are fed with stories of damsels in distress held captive in high towers or in a dragon’s fiery lair, and the knights in shining armor who are supposed to come “save” them. Little boys today grow up idolizing millionaire athletes, hedonistic rock stars, and ‘bling’-ed hip-hip musicians.

Then later, youngster watch movies and television shows featuring the latest Hollywood “starlets & hunks” – who are often almost production-line look-alikes, with ‘perfect,’ often scantily clad bodies -- and are even made privy to the lives of these celebrities off-screen. Young people are also largely influenced by music videos designed to shock, seduce, and titillate the senses with gratuitous flesh, violence, and even semi-pornographic images. Television programs and films with self-absorbed, rebellious, depressed, and surly youth abound.

Today’s adult TV dramas are designed with themes that include over-sexed and unsavory ‘housewives’…sex or power-addicted male ‘anti-heroes’…and a proliferation of films and television shows that focus on unhappy, unsatisfied, and unfulfilled men and women who have no idea what their purpose is, what they are doing with their lives – or who they are supposed to be.

These kinds of images, if un-moderated, can lead one off-course, into a sea of confusion and lack of focus. Suddenly, one may find themselves questioning their own dreams, sense of purpose and or direction.

But God has given you a purpose, and it is His intention that you discover your purpose and pursue the dream He has put inside you to its fullest degree!

The dreams God has given you are born of His Spirit – not of the soul. “Soulish dreams” originate in your mind, will or emotions – and are often fed from the external sources mentioned above.

But God’s dreams for you are birthed, planted in your heart, in the realm of the Holy Spirit…and are nourished by His ministry in your life.

It is possible to continue to meet the daily demands of life, and to pursue, one step at a time, those things that God has put inside you to share with the world. The key is to discover what it is you have to give others -- that ONLY YOU can give – because of your own authentic and unique, God-given giftings.

So re-commit to pursuing your passion - those God-given dreams inside you so that can impact and touch the lives of those within your sphere of influence. Remember: dreams from God are worth pursuing!

FRIDAY'S FAITH - Unity of the Faith

The phrase "unity of the faith" implies that the faith is defined by its unity. Christianity is supposed to bring about unity. Before you were saved, you lived in a world that was splintered, a world that was fighting against itself. When you became a Christian, you were born into a family that is supposed to be unified.

* Get It To Give It
* A Word To Fathers
* Winning The War Within

The word "unity" means oneness, and in this scripture we see that God wills that the church, indeed, the Body of Christ, becomes unified. How are all of us--from different backgrounds and with different ideas and different walks of life--supposed to be unified?

This happens when we grow up spiritually, when our love walk has developed to a place where we are able to be in unity with our brothers and sisters in the Lord. Now they may do things we do not like--they may get on our nerves or stab us in the back--but when we have grown spiritually to the point of loving our neighbor as Christ loved us, we will be able to stay in the oneness of the faith, which is unity.

Every person has a human body. If you do not have a human body, you do not have a legal right to operate on this planet. When one part of your natural body fights against another part of your body--and that actually what happens when people have certain diseases--the body can no longer be effective. In fact, the body may no longer operate. Likewise, the body of Christ cannot survive when its members are fighting one against another. It is supposed to operate as one. There should be no schism, no division, in the body.

It is not the will of God that there be so many denominations in the body of Christ that you can't remember all the names. It is not the will of God that this denomination fights against that denomination. It is not the will of God that people within the local church fight one another. No, God's plan is that the body be one. And since that is true, it is important that we do what is necessary to keep ourselves unified, to operate as one.

The Body of Christ is a big Holy Ghost gang. We are to be unified when we go before the world. If Satan wants to pick off one of us, he has to deal with all of us. First Corinthians 12 says that if one us suffers, we all are suffering; if one of us is rejoicing, we all are rejoicing. When the world sees believers, God's desire is that they see us all walking in unity, prospering in every area of life, and producing for Him.

Jesus intends for our unity to be not only a spiritual reality but a literal reality--something people can see. When this is the case, it will cause them to not only believe in God, but in His son Jesus Christ. Our unity is a sign and a wonder to the world.

FRIDAY'S FAITH - Praise Your Way to a Breakthrough!

Do you need God to make a way out of no way? The swiftness and surety of your deliverance starts with how you respond to hard times and difficult situations. Hear me when I say that it is not just enough to thank God and honor Him only when you've received a blessing. God wants you to show the extent of your faithfulness and trust in Him even in the midst of going through a challenge. The power of your praise will determine the magnitude of your breakthrough.

Praise is not just clapping your hands or applauding God. It is showing respect, honor, and gratefulness using your whole heart, mind, spirit and body despite your circumstances. Paul and Silas didn't wait until they experienced a breakthrough to praise and thank God. In the midst of difficult circumstances, they praised God and received the breakthrough they desired.

Acts 16:25, 26 (New Living Translation) reveals, "Around midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening. Suddenly, there was a massive earthquake, and the prison was shaken to its foundations. All the doors immediately flew open, and the chains of every prisoner fell off!"

Paul and Silas praised God even when their backs were bleeding and their feet and hands were in chains. Despite the pain and suffering they were going through, they praised God anyway; and as a result, God shook the very foundations of the prison, setting them free. God will shake the foundation of your prison; your bondage, your problem...if you make a decision to praise and give Him thanks, no matter what.

Praising God should become second-nature for all Believers. "This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people which shall be created shall praise the Lord" (Psalm 102:18). We were created to praise God, and it becomes a natural expression of your love for the Father when you spend time in the Word and meditate on His goodness.

When you have a heart for God and you know He loves you, your confidence in His ability to deliver you soars. You know help is on the way and you eagerly anticipate it. First Thessalonians 5:16-18 encourages, "Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you who belong to Christ Jesus" (NLT). God doesn't tell you to thank Him for negative circumstances; He says to thank Him while you're in the midst of them. Doing this shows that you trust Him to bring you out.

The storms of life are going to come; but don't let them disturb your peace and affect your thoughts and emotions. This will only move you into self-pity and frustration. Instead, maintain an attitude of praise.

Your first line of defense is the Word of God. Meditate on it and give it life by speaking it over your circumstances. If you need healing meditate on scriptures that reveal God's ability to heal. Receive that Word in your spirit and begin praising God for your healing.

The Word of God declares, "Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:4-7, NIV).

When you are in a situation and there seems to be no way out, open your mouth and praise the Lord-and don't stop. Instead of crying and complaining, give God praise because you know He has a plan for you that includes deliverance, restoration and peace. Thank Him for His goodness because your praise will stop the enemy and move the hand of God

When your deliverance comes, continue to praise Him because He has more in store for you. Thank Him for breakthrough in your home, on your job and with your children. Through your authority in Jesus, place a demand on your breakthrough and watch God show up in your life in ways you would have never imagined.

Tell Him, “Lord, I give You the gifts and talents that You put in me. I want to use then for Your glory. I want to lead somebody to You. Put in my path someone to whom I can minister, someone I can encourage. Help me to be a blessing to someone today. Lord, I want to be Your ambassador and represent You today.”

FRIDAY'S FAITH - Activate The Power Of Prayer

Do you need to tap into an intimate line of communication with God? The Bible instructs us to cast all our cares to God in prayer, making our requests known to Him with an attitude of thanksgiving (Philippians 4:6).

We are to request what we need and then trust Him to meet our needs. As we do that, God acts - imparting to us His peace, and providing all that is beneficial for our eternal good.

The power of prayer is immeasurable - and the more we reach out to God in intimate communication through prayer, the more we experience His transforming peace.

The peace of God that comes through prayer is one of the most valuable assets and gifts He gives us. It is a peace that transforms how we think. It enables us to answer calamity with calm reason, to see order in chaos, and to know the best direction to pursue.

By reaching out to God in prayer, we combat fears with faith. We experience God's presence with us -- an ally that is more powerful than any foe! His Holy Spirit girds us up, enabling us to function to the maximum of our ability and beyond.

I encourage people to experience the power of prayer and the calming effect it brings throughout the day. When are good times to pray? ALL THE TIME!

But at the very least, I recommend praying at these times:

Each morning when you awake. Morning prayer allows you to begin the day offering yourself to the Lord. As you greet the Lord in morning prayer, you are acknowledging His sovereignty over your life -- believing in Him to guide, protect, and inspire you throughout the day.

During the course of the day. Whether you are a homemaker, work outside the home, or go to school, there will be a myriad of circumstances in which you will find yourself needing the peace of God that prayer brings. There is no better way to handle challenging moments than to call on God to guide your actions, thoughts and words.

Upon returning home for the evening. I encourage you to take a moment at some point to thank God for protecting yourself and your family. Ask Him to bring peace to your home surroundings for the evening, and to assist you and other family members in releasing any negative "remains of the day."

Before going to sleep. While everyone sleeps, not everyone feels the benefits of a good night's sleep. That is because often, even when the body is resting, the soul is not...it is a bundle of anxieties and insecurities. Praying before going to sleep, and asking God to empty your mind of anxiety and worry, promotes genuine rest for both the body and the soul.

Remember -- any time is the "right time" to activate the power of prayer - your intimate line of communication to God!

FRIDAY'S FAITH - He Loved Who?

John 3:16 - For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Discover the most precious loving act ever done. God sent His Son to die for you! I know some would say "for who"? Have you ever had a conversation with someone you haven't seen in a long time and the two of you begin to talk and you tell them "you know such and such fell in love with such and such and they got married". The first thing most of the time when the person is in shock is "with who"!!!

The word love is such a loosely used word today that many have really elapsed the accurate meaning of such a powerful four letter word. Some declare it's what you do and others utter its how you act. Whatever you think love is you will never find a love like God's love. God so loved the world that he choose us to give his only begotten Son to. To be chosen is to be one who is the object of choice or of divine favor, an elect person, selected, and preferred for a certain and divine purpose.

An object is something that when viewed stirs a particular emotion, something toward which thought, feeling, or action is directed; it's a cause for attention or concern. When God looks at us it stirs His emotion of Love and compassion. That's why he forgives us and He directs His blessing down upon us.

Why? Because we are the cause for His attention and concern. God's Love is not like man's love; we didn't have to do anything to earn it. He doesn't take it away from us when we mess up. He's not waiting on us to love Him before He loves us, and His love is unconditional. If you didn't know it already it might shock you but "For God so loved (say your name) that he gave his only begotten Son."

The Father desires to share His love with His people in good times, in bad times, during hard times, within a recession or not. Max Lucado once said: "If God had a refrigerator, your picture would be on it. If he had a wallet, your photo would be in it. He sends you flowers every spring and a sunrise every morning. Whenever you want to talk, he'll listen."

That's just how much love God has for you.

No matter what state this devotion finds you in weather happy or sad dwell on God's love it's everywhere. Look at the flowers outside they represents His love, the moon at night and the sun during the day represents His love. The next breath you take represents God's love. Don't walk around saying he couldn't love me after what I did last night but remember He loves you.

Platinum Scraps - Week 3

This week each designer had to Alter a Photo Frame.

This was my first time altering a photo frame. This frame was a gift from BJ, it had been sitting in our office since December. I decided do to an Hawaiian theme, I'm slowly decorating our landing with Hawaiian items...

I used a lot of different products on this project:

First I used my favorite Glimmer Mist on the matte which was white,I painted the metal letters with Making Memories paint, Cricut's Stretch your Imagination cart to cut the Palm Tree and Sea Shell. I added some Dimension to the Palm Tree and Sea Shell (Royal Coat Dimensional Magic) - it looked kinda plan at first..., Flowers, Bling, the ribbon is made with Raffia, and a few brads here and there..

FRIDAY'S FAITH! - Eliminating Doubt

Eliminating doubt is a battle of the mind. We have to remain steadfast and unmovable in the word of God. This is a season of elevation and more of God's impartation.

Allow the Lord to transform your thought process. Know that God is merciful and its by grace that we are saved. Remember doubting Thomas? When Jesus came back on the scene and showed Himself to the disciples, there was one who openly said I would have to put my hands into His hand print and see Him with my very own eyes before I believe ( John 20:23-28).

When Jesus stood in front of Thomas, Thomas was amazed at His presence, he was in awe. Jesus then honored his request and left Him with these words, blessed are those who believed without seeing me (John 20:29). We have to line up with the word of God and believe who He is. We have to believe in His promises. The word says to lay down EVERYTHING, not something's, but EVERYTHING that exalts itself against the word of God (2 Corinthians 10:5).

We must not allow the spirit of doubt to hinder us from seeing the great moves of God. Everything God does is great! He works all things out for the good, for those who love Him (Romans 8:28). He says to cast your cares on Him (1 Peter 5:7). What are you believing Him for today? What is it you are in need of today? He said in His word He will supply all of our need ( Philippians 4:19). Are you questioning His love for you? He said in His word , He loves us so much , He gave up His only begotten Son (John 3:16). Never doubt the love of The Father. He said nothing would separate his love from us (Romans 8:35-39).

Doubt can cause you to be stagnated and unable to move with the flow of the Holy Spirit. You must believe God is more then able to equip you as He advances you. There is nothing too hard for Him. Daily time seeking Him will allow you to grow and to learn more about His Sovereignty and His truths. Prayer, worship, and meditating on His word will expand your belief in Him. Remember He is a Father that can not lie, He is of truth, the full truth and nothing but the truth. The enemy is the liar, stop listening to his lies, choose to believe The Lord. He will reward all of your efforts.

Seek the Kingdom of God and all things will be added onto you (Matthew 6:33). Make a choice to believe the word of God, believe Him, and believe in His promises. You must believe in who He says He is and that He rewards them that diligently seek Him. Fear is the root of doubt. The bible says the Lord did not give us the spirit of fear but of love power and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We have to tap into the well of hope and not allow the enemy to place doubt in our circumstances. Instead of doubting try rejoicing.

Train yourself to give thanks in the midst of the situation. Gather your thoughts and allow God to bring a calm to your spirit, so that you may be able to see things the way God sees it. The enemy's job is to stir you up with fear to cause doubt so that he can hinder your potential. Don't allow him to do it any longer. Tell the devil he is a liar and doubt is not your portion but confidence in The Lord is.

Today celebrate your trust and hope in Him who has kept you for such a time as this. This is a new day, let's call it a rebirthing of your faith. Time is ticking and the time is now. Make up your mind to be blessed by His abundance and don't let doubt or anything else stop you.

BUUTTT I was talking too much at the crop and did not noticed that I forgot until after they were glues down :( - So I think the title kinda blends in the the PP (printed paper)

Mid-week Service at Abundant Living Family Church

We had a wonderful mid-week service. I was really tired after work and everything seem to be keeping me from getting to church on time. We finally made it, me and the girls. Once we made it, there was a peace that fell over me. God was definitely in the building. After Pastor Diego ministered the word we all took time to light a Candle, Pray and Praise the Lord. I'm so thankful for all that God has done for me and my family. Tomorrow people across the world will celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. I will be one of those people....
